An avid user of new consumer technology, Sherman led Amazon Kindle’s marketing, advertising, and acquisition programs, helping drive success of a new way to read. Sherman’s 12 years at Amazon also saw him start and lead Amazon Prime Video’s marketing team and Alexa’s marketing efforts to drive penetration of Alexa deeper into consumers‘ lives. He helped propel Amazon Business, Amazon’s B2B marketplace, to a billion dollar business targeting both enterprise and small business. Sherman holds several U.S. patents for his design of Treasure Truck, a new mobile-only shopping and delivery experience that he developed.
Prior to Amazon, Sherman led marketing and product management at Pure Networks, an early home networking software company successfully acquired by Cisco. At RealNetworks, he led B2B broadband strategies and launched Helix, the company’s open-source audio and video platform. His other experience includes SBC Internet Services (now AT&T Internet Services), where he drove early penetration and retention of subscription internet services to both consumers and small business. Sherman also has experience in business development and sales, focusing on technology licensing and distribution of consumer subscription services.
